The leather
Six months. That's how long this leather spent in the tannery before I touched it — slowly tanned using natural tannins from quebracho, chestnut, mimosa, and acacia tree bark.
That process drives the tannins so deep into the fibres that the leather becomes almost impervious to the elements that destroy ordinary belts. Then hot-stuffed with oils and tallows for decades of weather resistance and flex.
This is the hide used in world-class equestrian saddles. Now it's on your waist.

I love it The leather is so thick and soft and solid The leather is so thick One thing I would like to see is to varnish the back of the belt less and leave the natural fibres to grab on to your pants, it's a little to smooth, the belt slides around too much!

My 1-1/2 belt is finely made, with durable components (buckle, screws etc) giving it a down to earth, yet high quality look and feel. For being a slightly wider and thicker belt than I've used recently, I've been pleasantly surprised at how supple it is, not digging into me when I move, bend or sit. I've been following Stewart Leather for a while, but wasn't sure if the belts were right for me as I no longer work blue collar, and now sit at a desk for work. After receiving one as a gift, I'm happy to report it will be getting daily use for the foreseeable future! If I was still doing manual labor for a living I would be getting myself the 1-3/4 belt as well, it's that good! If you're (as I was) uncertain if a Stewart Leather belt is right for you, or your line of work, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Great belt for the price
The only problem with this belt is it absolutely rocks. This belt is built to last. I am constantly in awe of how well built it is.
I got the heritage belt and the wuality is like no other belt. My last leather belt last me close to 20 years. This one will last beyond my years. I like how thick the material is. It feels great. I was considering the Man Belt and glad I went with the heritage for everyday use. First time around, I was shipped the wrong belt. Shit happens but the return process was super easy and convenient. I don't need to wear this belt for a year to know it is 5 STARS!!!
When I first opened the package on delivery day. I was pleased with the quality but not blown away. It took a few days of looking at it and feeling it till I started to really see the workmanship. I bought the heritage belt and his belt for my fiances birthday and they are great quality. I come from a logging family and my fiance and I are both mechanics so I wanted something that would tolerate a hard environment and these feel heavy and strong. Well worth the money. I wish they had options for womens work belts too with a more feminine buckle but that is the only complaint I have. Thanks so much stewart leather!
